Job Description – Procurement Head
* Define and drive the *procurement strategy* aligned with business goals, project requirements, and organizational budgets.
* Lead *end-to-end procurement operations* covering sourcing, vendor identification, RFQ/RFP, evaluation, negotiation, purchase execution, and delivery.
* Develop and maintain a reliable *vendor and supplier ecosystem* for IT hardware, software, cloud services, networking, security systems, and project-specific requirements.
* Lead *strategic sourcing and cost optimization* initiatives to achieve competitive pricing and maximize total cost of ownership.
* Manage vendor negotiations covering *pricing, payment terms, warranties, SLAs, AMC contracts, delivery timelines, and commercial terms*.
* Drive procurement for *enterprise, IT, government, and project-based requirements*, ensuring timely delivery and compliance.
* Establish and maintain *procurement policies, processes, approval workflows, documentation standards, and governance frameworks*.
* Conduct vendor evaluation, onboarding, performance reviews, audits, and periodic supplier assessments.
* Coordinate with *Finance, Administration, Project, Engineering, IT, and Business teams* to understand requirements and ensure timely procurement.
* Manage *imports, logistics, GST, e-way bills, inventory, asset management, and related documentation*.
* Support *government and tender-based procurement*, including BOQ analysis, OEM authorization, MAF letters, compliance documentation, and e-procurement portals.
* Monitor procurement performance through *cost savings, purchase cycle time, vendor performance, delivery adherence, budget utilization, and procurement KPIs*.
* Ensure procurement documentation is *audit-ready, compliant, accurate, and properly maintained*.
* Identify procurement risks and develop *alternate suppliers, contingency plans, and mitigation strategies* to ensure business continuity.
* Lead and mentor the procurement team and establish performance objectives and best practices.
* Participate in *client discussions, vendor meetings, commercial negotiations, and project review meetings*.
* Drive continuous improvement through *automation, process standardization, digital procurement tools, and data-driven procurement decisions*.
Required Skills & Expertise
* Strong experience in *Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Vendor Management, and Purchase Operations*.
* Strong expertise in *IT hardware, software licenses, cloud services, networking, security/surveillance equipment, and enterprise technology procurement*.
* Hands-on experience with *RFQ/RFP processes, quotation analysis, commercial evaluation, negotiation, and purchase execution*.
* Strong expertise in *vendor identification, qualification, onboarding, performance management, and supplier development*.
* Experience in *contract negotiation, rate contracts, AMC, SLA, warranty, payment terms, and commercial agreements*.
* Strong understanding of *CAPEX, OPEX, MRO, indirect procurement, and project procurement*.
* Experience with *government tenders, GeM, e-procurement portals, BOQ analysis, OEM authorization, and MAF documentation* is highly desirable.
* Strong knowledge of *GST, import procedures, customs, logistics, e-way bills, and statutory procurement documentation*.
* Experience with *ERP/procurement platforms* such as SAP, SAP MM, Oracle, Ariba, Zycus, or equivalent.
* Strong proficiency in *MS Excel and procurement analytics*, including spend analysis, cost comparison, savings tracking, and vendor performance reporting.
* Strong understanding of *inventory and asset management* processes.
* Experience in managing *procurement budgets, cost savings, and total cost of ownership (TCO)*.
* Strong understanding of procurement compliance, documentation, audit requirements, and organizational governance.
